Teens:Academy for Music & Video Production: Come Together

This two-week Academy offers students the ability to develop their digital audio, music and beat production abilities during the first week. In the second week students polish their filmmaking skills using professional HD video cameras and industry-standard software from Apple® and Adobe®. Produce your own music/soundtrack during Week One and then will incorporate that into your own music video or movie during Week Two.

Students learn by doing – everything from conceptualizing and storyboarding to importing and editing audio and video. Week One provides instruction and project work with curriculum taken from the John Lennon Educational Tour Bus©. Students learn about digital audio, music and beat production, using Apple’s® Logic Pro®. Week Two moves into the digital filmmaking/music video production process, where students will shoot and edit their own music video.

• To create music – including hip-hop, electronica – or invent your own
• Techniques used by professionals in digital music and beat production
• How to make your music sound like your favorite artists
• To build bass lines and melodies, how to “Autotune”
• Shooting with HD cameras & professional tripods
• Stages of production, scriptwriting & storyboarding techniques
• Microphones & audio recording
• Video editing with Final Cut Pro® and outputting for web and devices

Course may vary slightly based on student expertise & class interest. All students work on their own personal projects, which they keep.

You want to experience the full spectrum of audio and video production, explore songwriting, recording and audio mixing as well as the world of music video production. Get hands-on experience using professional HD cameras and industry-standard software such as Apple’s® Logic Pro® and Final Cut Pro®.

This camp is designed for aspiring musicians and filmmakers interested in making music videos, and also in the theories and techniques of making music like today’s top artists. Experience music video production and work with others who share your passion and learn how sound effects and music take video production to the next level.
